Ashes 2019: Australia wins the fourth test and retains the Ashes trophy. The Australians won the previous Ashes series too. It’s the 34th time, Australia wins the trophy. One test is yet to be played but it is insignificant because even if England manages to win the fifth test, they will be only able to draw the series. As per the rule, in case of a series draw, the non-hosting team is declared as the winner of the Ashes trophy. So, Australians already has won the Ashes trophy.

England vs Australia 4th Ashes Test Highlights
Australian skipper “Tim Paine” won the toss and elected to bat first on a batting-friendly pitch. They put 497 runs on the board by losing 8 wickets and declared their innings. Steve Smith once was once again the star of the Australian batting line-up. He scored a brilliant double hundred at Old Trafford Cricket Ground. He has now three double centuries in his Test career and all three against England.
England came to bat after Australia and scored 301 runs by losing all their wickets. Joe Root and Rory Burns played a sensible inning of 71 and 81 respectively. Josh Hazlewood took 4 wickets in that innings.
Aussies come to bat again in their second innings and declared their innings at 186 runs. Steve Smith again scored a brilliant inning of 82 runs. They put a total of 382 runs in front of the host i.e. England. In reply, England lost all their wickets in just 197 runs. Pat Cummins picked 4 wickets in that innings.
In this way, Australia retains the Ashes trophy once again. Steve Smith helped the team to retain it by batting magnificently throughout the series. He received the man of the match trophy for his brilliant double century in the first innings and 82 runs in the second innings.
